PREFERRED FLIGHT ROUTES AND ALTITUDES
(For information only.  Subject to change at the discretion of EAA119 and the WVI Airport Authority)

For Northerly Flights toward Santa Cruz (if Runway 20 is active runway): Turn right after crossing Highway 1, making a right crosswind departure to the Northwest, and follow the shoreline at 2,200 MSL (if ceiling permits). Turn right and return inland, crossing over Watsonville Municipal Airport at midfield, maintaining and altitude of 2,200 MSL (if ceiling permits). Make a right descending turn to letdown to pattern altitude and initiate a standard 45 degree pattern entry to left traffic for Runway 20 over the intersection of the Pajaro River and Highway 1.

For Southerly Flights toward Moss Landing (if Runway 20 is active runway): After crossing Highway 1, depart the WVI traffic pattern by initiating a left turn to 150 degrees magnetic heading. Follow the shoreline at 1,500 MSL (if ceiling permits) and circle left upon or before reaching Moss Landing Power Plant. Return inland while descending gradually to pattern altitude before initiating a standard 45 degree pattern entry to left traffic for Runway 20 over the intersection of the Pajaro River and Highway 1.

As always, altitude and route selection for Young Eagles flights are subject to the discretion of the pilot-in-command of each flight. EAA 119 recommends limiting flights to 20 minutes, particularly during busy Young Eagles Rally events!
